There was a time when I went to the bar on weeknights.
On St. Patrick's Day I even went at 8:00AM.
monday. tuesday. wednesday. definitely thursday.
but that was back when I was in college.
Now, I am basically an old lady. Meaning I go to work. Work forever, then come home and be responsible. Make dinner and go to bed.
but wednesday night I went to the bar.
of course...
I got there at 9:30 instead of the 11:00 of my younger years
heck, I left before 11:00
I drank diet pepsi instead of the draft beers of my younger years.
I ate a sub for dinner at the bar instead of crossing the street for the Sinbad's pizza of my younger years.
So yeah, I went to the bar on a Wednesday night. But it wasn't like it was in my younger years. Really, I just stopped in there as I was driving home from work to say hi to Ranatta. But it was nice. A great way to break up this week, which has been the looooongest week of my life.
Note to self: if you want to enjoy the holidays, don't work in retail.

Friendly Lunch
Last Saturday, I was working. But, in between stores I decided to take a little break and have lunch with a friend. When I say have lunch I mean I ate and Kristin sat and watched me. This is because Kristin eats like an old person. Meaning, I called her at 1:00 PM as I was leaving the store in Ithaca to ask if she wanted to meet for lunch and she said, "Well, I'm pretty full because I ate a couple hours ago, but I'd love to meet you and catch up". Try to get her for dinner at any hour past five and you can forget it.
So, we met at Moe's Southwest Grill. DELICIOUS! Here's just a few short reasons why I like it.
1. They make a junior burrito which is the perfect size.
2. You get free chips and salse with every order
3. They have a burrito called the art vandaley (reference to Seinfeld!)
4. I was once eating there with Martin andstole recruited a Moe's employee to become a wonderful cashier at Aldi.
So, while I ate my junior triple lindy and munch on chips and sipped diet coke, Kristin and I talked about anything and everything. It was the perfect way to break up a day of work!
While we were chatting we starting talking about atheism and our thoughts on it. Kristin is dating someone how considers himself an antheist and we both agreed it just feels kind of disconcerting to think that there would be nothing else after life on earth. It's nice to have faith and believe. What are your thoughts?
Anyway, my favorite Mexican restaurant in Ithaca is by far Garcia's. But that's for another post.

Lazy Sunday
Sunday was a lazy Sunday. It was fantastic! We slept until 11:00!!! Then we decided to gather our life together and do something. I had wanted to get our Christmas tree on Sunday, but it was raining. And I didn't want to get it that badly. Also, we had left our treestand back in WNY so my plan was sort of to just lean the tree against the wall till we got it. And it is really just unneccesary to lean a tree against the wall after going in the rain to get it. So, we skipped that plan.
BUT. We did clean the entire apartment. Which isn't really much of an achievement considering the small size of our apartment, but it still makes me happy to have everything sparkling. Of course, after mopping the kitchen floor took place on Sunday, Martin covered it in a massive amount of dirt on Monday. So life goes...
AND. We went to the laundromat. And together we washed an unprecedented amount of laundry. I think probably more laundry than I've ever had at one time. 2 loads of barn clothes. 3 loads of regular clothes. A load of towels. And bed sheets.
But.. I love this particular laundromat. Let me clarify. I hate going to the laundromat. But, since I have to go, I love this one. It has all these cute, dorky pictures hanging on the walls, All the dryers have names, One dryer is names Gertrude and there is a sun over it (I am pretty sure The Sun Rises Over Gertrude is a poem or book or movie or something) so I think that is pretty clever, it is very clean, AND there is hardly ever anyone in there. So all around, it is pretty nice.
While we were waiting for our clothes to wash, we went across the street and had a delicious lunch at Ron Don's. Their hawaain pizza is absolutely amazing!
Then, we went down to convenient care to get Martin checked out from his episode the other night. The doctor says he is fine. The took two blood samples, ran an EKG and checked him all out. I guess it was probably just a fluke thing.
Then we came home and watched hours of Seinfeld while eating clementines and nibbling on popcorn.
